I don't give a damn about them : Ravi Babu

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,April 02 2015]

Ravi Babu, who played the key role of Captain Raju in 'Avunu 2' and also directed the movie, says why the film is a prestigious one for him, the technology they used, why he doesn't work with big actors, why he doesn't care about the rumours etc in an exclusive interview with Indialgitz

Excerpts from the interview

Starts where it ends

'Avunu 2' is a true continuation for 'Avunu'. The film starts were the first part ended. As 'Avunu' is ended abruptly, there is a good scope for part 2. The last scene of the first part is the first scene of the second part. The horror elements in 'Avunu 2' are more than in 'Avunu' and it will be very thrilling.

Extensive graphics

Even in 'Avunu 2', the camera will be static and only the characters move. As the technology is more advanced than when we made 'Avunu', we have used some new lighting for this part and the visuals look very rich. Graphics are seen only for a few minutes in 'Avunu', but in 'Avunu 2', we have used extensive graphics for more than 50 minutes. Audiences will definitely have a new visual experience.

Prestigious for me

This is my fifth film with Suresh Productions and this is the last film that Dr.D.Ramanaidu presented. So it is a prestigious project for me and I hope it will live up to the expectations. Neither me nor Suresh Babu hurry up to release our films. We have waited for the right time to release the film and now we are releasing the film on April 3rd.

Did good job

Harsha Vardhan Rane and Poorna, who acted as the lead pair in 'Avunu', also played the leads in 'Avunu 2'. They really very well in this film. Sanjjanaa, Nikitha etc also acted in the film They also performed very well.

Will only work with them

I never consider whether an actor is small or big. Working with small or big actors doesn't excite me. Only after the script excites me, I choose actors who are suitable for the characters. I don't think just because I work with big actors, I will become a big director. So I work with only actors who do justice for my roles.

Secret behind rapport with him

I don't want things to be done in a hurry. So I never keep pressure on music directors with deadlines. I ask them to take their own time. Sekhar Chandra also loves to work with me because of it. So he gives good tunes for me.

Only professional relationship with heroines

I worked with Bhoomika for three films, Poorna for three films and also with actresses like Yami. My relationship with my heroines is only professional one. I don't know why some people are speculating that I am in a relationship with Poorna just because I did three films with her. Actually I don't give a damn about what people think or talk about me. I don't have so much time. If someone is interested in these kind of rumours, I would be actually happy.

He is my favourite

I love action films and I would love to do an out and out action entertainer soon. David Fincher is my favourite director. I love all his movies. Only he inspired me as a director.

Message to upcoming filmmakers

I am not a big director to give messages to others. But what I want to tell upcoming filmmakers is first they have to gain indepth knowledge about everything and the 24 crafts of film making. Only when they are confident enough that they are ready to narrate a story and direct a film, they should attempt direction. They shouldn't try to direct a film, just because they have a story.
