'Dasavatharam', one of the most expected films of 2008, which turned out to be a hit in Tamil, is all set to hit screens in Hindi. Directed by KS Ravi Kumar, the movie has Kamal Haasan in the lead, playing 10 different roles, paired with Asin.

Produced by Aascar Films, the movie was a cat and mouse chase between a nano technologist with a bio weapon and an FBI agent on the prowl to procure it to destroy the world. It spanned from the eleventh century and was noted for Kamal Haasan’s portrayals. The film, dubbed and released in Hindi, only has one change apparently.

Kamal Haasan played the lovably funny Balaram Naidu, CBI officer in the Tamil version. In its Hindi coating, the character will not be a Telugu but a Bengali, Bengali Babu. “That is the only change we have made,” says Kamal Haasan.

“A lot of people have congratulated me for doing 10 characters in the film. But I owe it to Sivaji Ganesan sir, who has inspired me to do this. I got this idea only after seeing Sivaji Ganesan sir so easily don nine roles in ‘Navarathiri’,” said the actor.
