Distressed and saddened by his academic performance, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad student from Varanasi committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room.

The student was pursuing his Masters in Designing. He had locked himself inside his hostel room on Monday. His friends broke open the door on Tuesday morning to find him dead. "I never thought I would end up letting all of you down. Do not miss me. I dont deserve it I am not worthy. Just know that I love you all back just the way you did because that is what friends do right?...Thank you for being the best parents.. I am sorry I turned out to be such a waste," his suicide note read.

A case has been registered and the body has been sent to a government hospital for autopsy. There have been over 5 cases of suicide just in the last year across all IITs.
