Ilayaraja gave better songs to Kamal - Rajinikanths open talk

The second and final day of 'Ilayaraja 75' with the maestro live in concert was a grand affair with the stalwarts of Tamil and South Indian cinema Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohan Babu, Mani Ratnam, Shankar and others in attendance. Superstar jokingly told Ilayaraja that he gave the best songs to Kamal to which Raja replied that Kamal would say the same to him.

Rajini in his speech said that the best form of art is music and composers have the blessings of God and the power to influence men. He explained that there are several forms of Lingaa some that form in water, others created by men and yet others that form by themselves. Ilayaraja according to Rajini is one such rare creation whose power he has witnessed since 'Annakili and continues endlessly. The Superstar added that earlier he used to call the Isaigniani Raja sir but later when they became close as Swami and he too did the same.

Rajini also recalled that Raja made him sing "Adikuthu Kuliru" song in 'Mannan' that became a hit.
