Priya Bhavani Shankar is an Indian television presenter and actress, best known for her lead role in the Tamil-language soap opera Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai. Priya began her career as a software engineer at Infosys. Later she quit her job and entered the world of mass media where she worked as a news presenter on Puthiya Thalaimurai for three years. After quitting Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, she forayed into acting with Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai on STAR Vijay. Lately, she is planning to pursue an MBA degree as per the sources reported by the Deccan Chronicle. She had played the lead role in Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai until November 2016 which is a remake of Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus..
