In an unexpected turn of events, as per sources, Income Tax officials have been conducting searches at premises of director Anurag Kashyap and actor Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai in connection with allegations of tax evasion.

The income tax officials have been conducting searches currently at nearly 20 locations in Mumbai and Pune, which also includes premises connected to a talent agency besides Phantom Films which is co-promoted by Anurag Kashyap and producers Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena.

It has been said that these searches are part of a tax evasion allegation. It must be noted that both Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu have frequently voiced out on various national issues and social causes and have constantly tweeted against the government.
