India won’t hesitate for strategic cross-border strikes, Rajnath asserts

“Whenever the need arises, Indian security forces won’t mind crossing the border (with Pakistan) to conduct strategic strikes; we would certainly not hesitate,” Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said in a veiled threat to Pakistan.

Speaking in Delhi at the ‘Rising India’ summit organized by ‘News 18’, Singh said that Kashmir was, is and will always remain an integral part of the country.  “No force on earth can take it away from us,” he said and lauded the bravery of Indian (soldiers) in protecting the country’s borders.

Stating that India always wanted a peaceful and permanent solution to the Kashmir issue, Singh said that Indian interlocutor is ready to talk to anyone who wants a dialogue on the issue.  “We are bothered not only about internal security; we reserve our right to launch cross-border attacks to protect the country’s interests,” he added.

“We have always extended a friendly arm to Pakistan which is not so keen to extend its own hand; instead, Pakistan continues to irritate us by giving political legitimacy to Lashkar-e-Toiba and to terrorists involved in 2011 Mumbai attacks,” Singh concluded.
