IndiaGlitz Weekly Round-Up: What All Happened

The week gone by has seen some most interesting developments. The past few days will be remembered for the Save Sabarimala movement the most. In the entertainment industry, too, a couple of positive developments have taken place.

Save Sabarimala movement storms Kerala

The entry of women into the Sabarimala temple remained in a limbo with thousands of protestors, many of them women, taking to streets across Kerala to protect the temple tradition. The BJP-RSS duo and the Congress have supported the Save Sabarimala movement. But the Communists are with the pro-entry brigade. The unity of Hindus in the southern state has warmed the hearts of many across India.

Pawan Kalyan shows mega power

The Jana Sena 'kavathu' in Dowleswaram was a monstrous hit, with Pawan Kalyan enthusing his supporters with his speech. The march in the Kapu heartland has surely sent shivers down the spine of both the TDP and the YSRCP. The Jana Sena has got a morale booster for sure.

Tollywood comes forward for Titli victims

Cyclone Titli has left a trail of destruction in Srikakulam. From Allu Arjun (Rs. 25 lakhs) to NTR (Rs. 15 lakhs), top actors have made their donations. Vijay Deverakonda, Varun Tej, Koratala Siva, Nikhil Siddhartha, Manchu Manoj, Sampoornesh Babu and others have done their mite.

'Voice of Women' formed in Tollywood

With sexual harassment of women in the film industry becoming a major concern, Tollywood has seen the formation of 'Voice of Women'. This will address the issue of women's safety at workplace (locations, production offices, etc). Actresses like Samantha Akkineni have welcomed VOW.

Aravindha Sametha's caravan rolls on

The NTR-Trivikram earned a share of Rs. 80 Cr worldwide. Into its second week, the film is still putting up decent figures, riding on the back of the holiday season. It's now trailing 'Srimanthudu' in terms of lifetime collections and is most likely going to surpass it.

RGV goes big with 'Lakshmi's NTR'

Ram Gopal Varma made a mark this week by announcing 'Lakshmi's NTR' as a true-to-life account that will have the exclusive blessings of late NT Rama Rao. The film will tell the story of the late former AP CM's life right since the entry of Lakshmi Parvathi in his life. It will hit the screens on January 24, 2019. The clash with Balakrishna's 'Mahanayakudu', which will tell the "official" history of NTR's political journey, is coming on the same date.

Trivikram faces plagiarism charges

Vempalli Gangadhar, a writer from Rayalaseema, alleged that many characters in 'Aravindha Sametha' were lifted from his novel, 'Papagni Kathalu'. He described Trivikram Srinivas in unceremonious terms and decried the director's failure to give him due credit. The controversy died down in no time for whatever reason.

'Sarkar' teaser creates history

We don't know how the film is going to be, but the Teaser for 'Sarkar' has become the world's most liked Teaser on YouTube. Tamil superstar Vijay's superstardom is mythical and the success of the teaser only proves it again. With director AR Murugadoss' previous film, 'SPYder', turning a cropper, the success of 'Sarkar' will be sweeter than the sweetest. The film will hit the screens on November 6 in both Telugu and Tamil.
