Infant born with teeth undergoes surgery

Earlier this month, a newborn baby surprised the doctors when he was born with two teeth. It's rare for newborns to have teeth. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu's Salem.
After taking consent from the infant's parents, the doctors at a private hospital performed a surgery to remove the teeth. The teeth were very delicate. The baby ran the risk of inadvertently gulping them down while consuming milk or water. Also, breastfeeding would have been very difficult for the mother. Keeping the risks in view, we surgically removed the teeth. The baby is now healthy, the doctors said.
