Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had made his debut in Tamil cinema with the multistarrer Maanagaram which was a successful venture. The director's second movie was the Karthi starrer Kaithi produced by Dream Warrior pictures.

Released on Diwali 2019, Kaithi revolved around a prisoner Dilli played by Karthi and how he helps a cop Bejoy played by Narain and became Karthi's first 100 crore grosser. Now, the movie has achieved an international honour.

Kaithi has been chosen to be screened in the International Indian Film Festival Toronto which will be held between August 9-15. Sharing this happy news, Lokesh tweeted "Glad to share this :) Big thanx to the entire team". Lokesh Kanagaraj's next movie Master starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi will release post lockdown.
