The schedule for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League has been announced on Sunday. IPL 2022 is the 15th edition of the biggest T20 tournament in the cricketing world. With two new franchises, a total of 10 teams are split into Group A and Group B with 70 league matches starting from March-end.

Group A comprises Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants while Group B consists of Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. Each team will play two matches with four teams in the respective group and will play one match with teams in the other group. Two matches will be played between the teams in the same row of different groups.

The 15th edition will open with last season's finalists Chennai Super Kings set to face Kolkata Knight Riders in the opener at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 26. "On 27th March, the league will stage its first double-header starting off with a Day game at Brabourne where the Delhi Capitals will square off against Mumbai Indians. The DY Patil Stadium will host the clash between Punjab Kings & Royal Challengers Bangalore at night," BCCI's official press release read.
