Is Powerstar contesting Lok Sabha elections under Kamal's MNM party?

The news that Powerstar Srinivasan contesting for the Lok Sabha elections under Kamal Haasan's Makkal Neethi Maiam alliance caused a stir in the political arena. The controversial comedy actor himself has clarified that his party is All India Republic Party led by Ramdas Athawale for which he is the Tamil Nadu state secretary.

The confusion is due to the name of C.K. Tamilarasan's party which is Inthiya Jananayaga Katchi (Indian Republic Party or IJK) which has forged an alliance with Kamal Haasan's Makkal Neethi Maiam and has procured one seat for the Lok Sabha and three for the TN bye-elections.
