A complaint was on Wednesday filed against Prakash Raj by a lawyer over his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence in the wake of journalist Gauri Lankesh's murder. A Lucknow court has admitted the case. It is scheduled to be heard on Oct 7.

The actor has reacted strongly to this development. “As a responsible citizen of this democratic country, I was disturbed by the silence of the Prime Minister. Is that a sin?” he has told a national daily.

Is he against Modi? Prakash Raj has said that he is not anti-Modi. "Regardless of the consequences, I will speak the truth," he has said.

He has also clarified that he has no intentions to enter politics.
