Isai
'Isai' marks the comeback of S. J. Surya as both director and actor. S. J. Surya will be returning to the big screen with his much-awaited project 'Isai' which revolves around the rivalry between two musicians. The movie is said to be a new genre musical-thriller and will be releasing come January 30.
The movie underwent several stages before it reached where it is today. Initially, A. R. Rahman was said to be part of the project. However, S. J. Surya later confirmed that he himself would be handling the musical score for the movie apart from directing and acting in it too. After initial reports suggesting that Raai Laxmi was rumored to play the lead role, S. J. Surya made an official statement about the female lead saying he was auditioning newcomers for the role. Likewise, Sulagna Panigrahi, an Oriya and Indian television and film actress was cast as the female lead and was rechristened as Savithri.
Sathyaraj, Ganja Karuppu and MS Bhaskar are playing pivotal roles in the film. The songs of 'Isai' have been well-received across all mediums and is also one of the most-anticipated films of the year. 'Isai' releases on January 30.
