Hombale Films, the makers of 'Salaar', have announced the name of the film's female lead. Shruti Haasan has been roped in for the prestigious project, which has Prabhas playing a power-packed role.

"We're ecstatic to have you onboard for #Salaar. Can't wait to see you sizzle on the screen," the makers said on Thursday. Wishing Shruti a happy birthday, producer Vijay Kiraganduru wrote, "Glad to have you onboard for #Salaar. Looking forward to great times." For the 'Katamarayudu' actress, this one is a huge project and perhaps the biggest film in her career thus far.

A trial shoot of the movie, which is directed by Prashanth Neel of 'KGF' fame, has been held in Hyderabad. Prabhas will join the schedule very soon. The action film will have music by Ravi Basrur. The 'KGF' technical team will be working with vigour on this pan-India project. The film's release date is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Shruti awaits the release of 'Pitta Kathalu' on Netflix. The four-story anthology will stream on the OTT giant from February 19. Her story is directed by 'Mahanati' fame Nag Ashwin.
