Global superstar Jackie Chan’s name has been synonymous with the exciting action sequences and death-defying stunts, that he has been performing day in and day out for the past five decades or so. In the innumerable on-screen accidents that Jackie has had till now there is not a single bone in his body that he has not broken.

In his most recent interview to promote his new film 'Vanguard', the 66-year-old thespian has revealed a terrifying accident that he yet again got involved in during a chase sequence out at sea for the film.

“It was a very ordinary scene, but I almost drowned,” said Jackie. A behind-the-scenes clip of the incident that was released along with the interview shows Jackie riding a jet ski with his co-star, Chinese actress Miya Muqi and all of a sudden the vehicle crashes into a rock and flips over, throwing both actors into the water.

While Miya quickly resurfaces, Jackie did not and the concerned crew can be heard panicking, A rescue team quickly rushes over to the spot and help Miya out of the water and frantically search for Jackie but for a significant amount of time he is not found. When the situation got really alarming we see Jackie pulled up from behind the rock on which the crash occurred and he was looking confused and shocked causing more concern.

However it is the Jackie Chan and in spite of going through such a frightful ordeal, the affable superstar was still in high spirits as he excitedly recounted what happened to him to the crew Most surprisingly Jackie was concerned about his costar Miya more than himself thinking she was the one who went down deep.

In the interview, Jackie explained that after the jet ski flipped over, he felt himself being dragged down deeper into the water, but he kept telling himself to not to be afraid. “I also don’t remember what happened, but it was like there was a divine power helping me,” he said. “I pushed the jet ski out of the way, and the current pushed me out of the water.”

Jackie then shared that when he returned to the shore he found his frequent collaborator and friend director Stanley Tong in tears. According to Stanley, Jackie had gone missing underwater for 45 seconds, which surprised Jackie as it didn’t feel that long to him. In an apparent attempt to lighten the mood, Jackie later quipped: “This movie is finished. Both [characters] have already died!”

Well that's Jackie Chan for you the more the danger in the stunts the more he enjoys doing them and that's why he is the biggest and most loved superstar ever in the entire globe.

'Vanguard' directed by Stanley Tong is about an accountant who is threatened by the world's deadliest mercenary organization and Covert security company. Vanguard is the last hope of survival for him. The film stars Jackie Chan, Yang Yang, Ai Lun, Miya Muqi, Zhu Zhengting, Fady Zaky and Xu Ruo Han. The film was slated for release on January 25th, 2020 but has been shifted to September 30th, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
