A few weeks earlier maverick director Venkat Prabhu announced 'Chennai 600028 2' through an eyecatching motion poster and today the pooja has been conducted thus signalling the start of the exciting sequel to the path breaking hit film.

Most of the original cast members including Jai, Mirchi Shiva, Premgi Amaran, Ajay Raj, Nithin Sathya, Vijay Vasanth, Arvind Akash and Vijayalakshmi among others are expected to return. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director while Rajesh K Narayanan will handle the camera.
