James Bond actor Sean Connery passes away at 90

Sir Sean Connery, the Scottish actor who played James Bond in seven Bond films, on Saturday passed away. He was 90. The legendary actor, who is regarded by many as the best Bond actor, has left his fans dejected.

Sean also famously starred in 'The Hunt for Red October', 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', 'The Rock', 'Entrapment', among others. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in 'The Untouchables'.

Mourning his demise, public historian Greg Jenner paid a rich tribute. He wrote, "Farewell to #SeanConnery, by no means a flawless man but an indisputable screen icon with incendiary charisma; he played a Russian submarine captain, a Spanish warrior, an English spy, all while sounding like the Scot he was. But it didn't matter because he was Sean Connery."

Wrote India Willoughby, "What a life. Enjoyed everything he did - even the movies which were clearly just for a payday. Favs: All the Bonds, The Hill, The Untouchables. And to top it all, he was almost a Man Utd player. God bless Sir Sean."

In a rich obituary, BBC wrote that Sean left school at 13 with no qualifications and delivered milk, polished coffins and laid bricks, before joining the Royal Navy. After he developed stomach ulcers, he had to leave the Navy.
