Jamie Foxx has spoken up on the unexplained health scare that left him comatose for three weeks in April 2023. The Academy Award winner related the terrifying event to a group of people in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, in a raw video posted on social media.
Foxx started, "Last April 11, I had a bad headache and asked my friend for an Advil," flicking his fingers. "I spent twenty days missing. I have no memory at all. He then went on to say how his daughter and sister drove him to an Atlanta doctor who wrote off his illness, but that another doctor noticed something quite grave. Foxx decided not to reveal particulars on camera.
Following an unidentified medical problem on the Atlanta set of his forthcoming Netflix film, âBack in Actionâ Foxx was hospitalized. Cameron Diaz was there. Announcing his sickness on Instagram the next day, his daughter Corrine Foxx reassured supporters he was "already on his way to recovery." She informed everyone a month later that Foxx had been out of the hospital for weeks and was even picking pickleballs.
Foxx took the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Cinema & Television Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements in December in his first public appearance since the event. He thought back on his trip and said he couldn't walk six months before. "I value every single minute nowadays; it's different. It's difficult when it's almost over; when you see the tunnel; I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy. He told me he saw the tunnel but not the light.
