On Tuesday, a tragic incident occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorists opened fire, killing 26 tourists. In response, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, who hails from Kashmir, expressed deep sorrow and anger, stating that the terrorists must be taught a strong lesson.
Anupam Kher shared a video on social media addressing the brutality. He emotionally said that watching Hindu individuals being individually targeted and killed in Pahalgam was heartbreaking. He expressed outrage over the heinous act and mentioned that such attacks on the Hindu community in Kashmir have been happening during his entire lifetime. Compared to this real-life horror, his film 'The Kashmir Files' only shows a glimpse of the reality.
He also criticized the religiously motivated targeting that occurs during tourism in Kashmir. People from various parts of India visiting the region are identified based on their religion and attacked. Kher said there are no words to express this pain.
He recalled heart-wrenching visuals, such as a young woman sitting next to her deceased husband's body and another woman named Pallavi pleading with the terrorists to kill her too.
Anupam Kher made a heartfelt appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Indian government. He requested that strong action be taken against the terrorists to ensure such atrocities are never repeated, not even in future lifetimes. He emphasized that no mercy should be shown to those responsible.
