Janapriyan
Jayasuriya, the young actor who had freed himself from the bondage of stereo types, will have his next movie 'Janapriyan' released in a short while. Basically a family entertainer, the movie tells the story of two friends -Priyanan and Vaishakhan, who have extremely different characters .
The movie has Jayasuriya as Priyadarshan , a guy from a small town who lands at Kochi with a lot of dreams. A honest, hardworking young man, Priyan had to shoulder the responsibility of his family since a young age following his father's untimely death. Being idealistic, Priyan also loves to marry a girl from a poor family as he believes that only such a girl can manage with the little income that he earns.
After much search through his talkative ways, he lands on a temporary job in a Taluk office, in place of Vyshakhan (Manoj K. Jayan), who has gone for a long leave. Vyshakhan is quite undisciplined and doesn't care about completing pending work. Things are pretty happy till a day when Vyshakhan decides to cut short his leave and rejoin work. Priyadarshan pleads with Vyshakhan to extend his leave, so that he can continue in the present job. After much discussions Vyshakhan agrees, but for a seemingly impossible demand.
'Janapriyan' is the launch pad of Boban Samuel, popular director of television soaps like `Alphonsamma' and `Paavakoothu into the big screen. The screenplay is by Krishna Poojappura, who had created hits for Saji Surendran and Radhakrishnan Mangalathu who came from TV serials to make name in cinema.
Bhama once again comes up as the heroine to Jayasuriya, after their previous hit 'IVar Vivaahitharaayal'. She plays the role of Meera, who belongs to a wealthy family. She lives close to the lodge where Priyadarshan lives. But our hero falls for her in the misconception that she is a maid there.
Also in the cast are Jagathy Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Salim Kumar and Suraj Venjarammoodu. Cinematographer is Pradeep Nair. Lyrics by Santosh Varma have been set to tune by Gautham.`
