Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of the late legendary actress Sridevi, is steadily expanding her presence in South Indian cinema—and now, it looks like Kollywood could be her next stop. According to industry sources, acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith is in advanced talks to cast Janhvi in his upcoming project.
Janhvi, who made her acting debut with the Hindi film Dhadak in 2018, has since established herself in Bollywood with a range of performances. Her foray into South cinema began with her role opposite Jr. NTR in Devara, followed by her current project Pedi alongside Ram Charan.
With her popularity rising across industries, Tamil directors have taken notice—and Pa. Ranjith, known for critically acclaimed films with strong narratives, appears to be leading the charge. Talks between the two are reportedly nearing finalization.
If the deal is confirmed, this will mark Janhvi’s official entry into Tamil cinema. Given Pa. Ranjith’s reputation and Janhvi’s rising star power, their collaboration is already creating buzz, with many expecting her to become a major presence in Kollywood.
An official announcement is expected soon.
