Javed Akhtar: Proud of daughter Zoya Akhtar

  • IndiaGlitz, [Friday,May 29 2015]

Zoya Akhtar writes straight from her heart. She watches things, experiences and absorbs them as is. All of it translates in her writing. It is said that Zoya often shares her writing and scripts with her father Javed Akhtar and he feels that in her first draft of scripts itself he can experience the depth of her writing.

A very proud father, the veteran writer is always high on praise for his daughter Zoya. We were told that Javed saab likes taking Zoya's opinions on things. He likes talking to her and feels Zoya has a knack of understanding another person's perspective. And this is the ability which helps her in writing as well.

Zoya's writings are nuanced and characters are well sketched. Like in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' each character had dimension and a relatability factor. Once again in 'Dil Dhadakne Do' the characters and the family relations is something everyone would be able to identify with. Zoya understands people, emotions and things as is and successfully puts it out there. Javed has seen rushes of 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and has been high on praise for the film.
