The Justice Arumuga Swamy Commission of Inquiry, set up by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu late last year to probe the mysterious circumstances preceding the December, 2016 demise of former chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa, is to interrogate cook Rajammal and driver Aiyappan who were in close proximity with the late leader for a long time.

The COI had interrogated doctors at Apollo Hospital who treated the late chief-minister for 75 days, Jayalalithaa’s personal aide Poonkundran and many others including her relatives Deepa, Deepak, Madhavan, Ilavarasi’s son Vivek, daughter Ilavarasi, etc.  It has also sent summons to former aide Sasikala, who was the only one who was in constant company of Jayalalithaa and who didn’t allow others to meet or talk to her.

Cook Rajammal, driver Aiyappan and ex-M.P. Manoj Pandian have now been issued summons to come for interrogation. It is said that prior to getting admitted to Apollo Hospital late on the night of 22nd September, 2016, a heated argument ensued between Jayalalithaa and Sasikala after which the latter arrogantly and inhumanly pushed the former to the floor even as she was already down with fever.

Jayalalithaa, it is said, couldn’t get up and when Rajammal tried to help the chief-minister get up, she was threatened not to do so. The ‘leader of the masses’ was allowed to lie like that for a few hours after which she was rushed to the Hospital in an ambulance sent by Apollo Hospital. What exactly happend on that day and whether Sasikala was responsible for Jayalalithaa’s demise could be confirmed by Rajammal, it is believed.

Jayalalithaa’s drive Aiyappan would also be interrogated to find out why ambulance wasn’t called immediately after she fell on the floor. Whether she was purposely allowed (by her aide) to die a ‘slow death’ would also be probed, it is said.
