The double murder of Jayaraj and Bennicks a father son duo in Sathankulam, Thoothukudi by police brutality has become the talking point after national attention was called on to it by celebrities and the public discussing it and condemning it on social media. The Madurai High Court has since allowed the CBCID to probe immediately and the investigations are already on before the CBI takes over the case soon.

Superstar Rajinikanth released a statement on twitter that the culprits should not be spared and now Thalapathy Vijay's father has put out a video message on the issue as well.

SAC has stated in Tamil "It may be easier to escape death from the coronavirus pandemic but its much tougher if you get caught in the Sathankulam police station. During these pandemic times there were many police officials who worked for the public tirelessly and have been lauded as angels which cannot be denied. Are these satans from the same department? They should be punished instantly and those who try to help these satans escape will not be forgiven by the people."
