Father arrested for raping 8-year-old daughter

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 8-year-old daughter at the Jhalawar village in Rajasthan's Kota on Sunday.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday morning when the uncle of the victim spotted the man sexually abusing his daughter in one of the rooms in their house. He immediately rescued the girl and registered a complaint with the police. The mother of the victim is separated from her husband and has been living at her parents' place for a long time now. The girl, along with her siblings, lived in a joint family at the village.
Following the victim's uncle's complaint, a case was registered against the accused under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act. The accused was produced before the court on Saturday, following which he was sent to judicial custody. A medical examination is reportedly being conducted on the victim.
