John Allen Chau stripped down to underpants in an attempt to blend with Sentinelese tribe

The young American missionary who was killed on November 17 by an isolated native group on a secluded island in the Bay of Bengal has been the subject of discourse for over a week. It has triggered several conversations, including religious faith and human rights.

In attempts to blend with the tribe in order to gain their trust, he had apparently dressed like the tribe men, hiding his belongings for safe access. A recent disclosure reveals that he also stripped down to his black underpants in one of those attempts.

While most people consider his actions to deliver a Bible to a group of people who wanted to kill him, stupid, his defenders see "commitment to the Gospel of Christ."
