Army and Police on high alert for the release of Joker

In a rare occurrence, the army and the police force are in high alert fearing violence on the release of the new movie 'Joker' after intelligence reports collected from the dark web suggested that a theatre has been targeted for a shooting. The new movie directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix depicts the dark history of Batman's arch-nemesis. It may be recalled that during the release of the Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises' directed by Christopher Nolan a masked gunman opened fire in a Colorado theatre killing twelve people.

LAPD has released a statement "While there are no credible threats in the Los Angeles area, the Department will maintain high visibility around movie theaters when it opens," the LAPD said. "We encourage everyone to go out and enjoy all of the weekend leisure activities the City has to offer. However, Angelenos should remain vigilant and always be aware of your surroundings. As always, if you see something, say something."

The Landmark chain of theaters have made it clear in their notice "We want all our guests to enjoy the 'Joker' for the cinematic achievement that it is. But no masks, painted faces or costumes will be permitted into our theatres,".
