Noted ad film-maker turned director  Revathy S Verma has come out with June R , a movie which dwells on the emotional bondage between three women. Malayalam music-composer Sharath has scored music for the movie and has come out with five numbers which are sure to enthrall the listeners. A touch of melody and classical music, Sharath's tunes certainly stick to the hearts.

The highlight is pop singer Usha Uthup singing a number. Sharath, from the school of Malayalam school, has a natural feel for lilt and melody.

1.Mazhaye Mazhaye (Hariharan)

It's a song on rain. Rain, as a muse for musicians, is always pretty inspiring. Sharath uses the voice of Hariharan brilliantly. And Hari himself, singing in a Carnatic vein, brings out the inherent sweetness in the tune, like master chef would from halwa. The soft tabla, to the accompaniment of the lyrical beauty of the verses describing rain, deserves appreciation.

2.Rim Jim (Mazhaye Mazhaye)  (Sujatha)

After Hari Haran, it's Sujatha who lend hers to another paean on rain. Unlike Hariharan, Sujatha provides more classical touch to it and flows very smoothly. One never gets tired romancing the rain.

3.Puthu Puthu  (Usha Uthup, Chithra)

It's the happening song in the album. Pop Queen Usha Uthup, full of vibrant energy in spite of her age, adds sheen to the number in the company of national award winner Chitra. Usha Uthup touching the higher scales quite easily while Chitra accopmpanying her plays competent second fiddle. Sharath enthusiastic tunes is sure to make this number click.

4.Anbe Anbe (Gayathri Varma) Reminding one of maestro Ilayaraja in his hey days is Sharath in this song. Nothing but violins accompany the singer and the much-needed melody flows all through. A slow but a soft song, the highlight is no doubt  Sharath's excellent orchestration.

5.Eano Eano  (Sharath) It has become a trend these days for music-composers to render at least one song in the album. Sharath has sung this number which is a fusion of classical and western stuff. A different voice providing a different feel. Possessing all ingredients to top the audio charts, the song tends to drop pace as it progresses.

Melody has it moments, that is the message.
