As per the latest update, actress Sai Pallavi has been roped in to play the female lead in Dhanush's upcoming action-comedy 'Maari 2'. The news was officially announced by its director Balaji Mohan announced today through his social media page. "The vibrant Sai Pallavi is the heroine of 'Maari 2'. It's a character that's right at the heart of the film," Balaji tweeted. 

In the prequel, Dhanush was paired with Kajal Aggarwal. We are not sure if Sai Pallavi is replacing Kajal Aggarwal's role in the sequel. Let's wait and watch. However, actors Robo Shankar and Vinod, who played Dhanush's sidekicks in the first part, will be part of Maari 2 as well. Mollywood's most bankable actor Tovino Thomas will be playing the antagonist role in Maari 2. The shootingof Maari 2 will commence in October.
