We had already reported to you that actress Jyothika is playing the character of a brave, loveable Tanjore woman in her upcoming project. Titled 'Udanpirappe', the film marks the landmark of the 50th movie in the veteran actress' cinema career.

It is well-known by now that Suriya's 2D Entertainment production house has struck a fabulous four-film deal with the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. The first film 'Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum' had its world premiere last week. Following the success of 'RaRa', the makers have revealed the release date of 'Udanpirappe', the second movie of the deal.

The team has decided to release Udanpirappe on October 14 marking the festive of Ayudha Pooja. The story is about the bond and tussle between the siblings Vairavan and Mathangi played by Samuthirakani and Jyothika respectively. The crux of the plot is how Jyotika reunites her husband Sasikumar with her brother Samuthirakani. Sasikumar essays the role of Sargunam in the movie.

Udanpirappe is helmed by Era Saravanan of 'Kathukutty' fame. The star cast also includes Soori, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Kalaiyarasan and Siddhu in crucial roles. Velraj has cranked the camera and Ruben is taking care of the cuts. National award-winning composer D Imman is scoring music for this movie.
