With two National awards and multiple standing ovations from various film festivals around the world, KaakaMuttai is one of the most anticipated movies of this year. Debutant Manikandan sure knows how to make best use of his crew and with support from Dhanush and Vetrimaran the film is set to capture the hearts very soon, until then here is some scintillating music from GV, let’s have a peek at its review.

1. Edhai Ninaithoom  Listen here

Singer: G.V.Prakash
Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

GV renders this melody, takes up things on his own and delivers a clean melody. Starting off with some aromatic guitar, GV’s vocal just matches spot on to the lyrics which asks you to start dreaming and go towards the dream with a will. Muthukumar’slyrics steals the show matched by equal distant bass and the solo trumpet mid way. The song might not look to click the first time, listen the second time and you would keep going.

2. Karupu  Listen here

Singer: G.V.Prakash
Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

The best part about this song is at its backstage with a lot of mixing makes it a sure shot hit. The song weaves out first with a local essence then switches to a bit of westernized blend. An interesting track from GV and yet again Muthukumar’s lyrics jump out and captures your attention; the song appears to look like more of a BGM theme unveiling along with the storyline. Overall a good fusion attempt hard to go unnoticed.

3. Manjave  Listen here

Singers: Gaana Bala, Srihari
Lyricist: Rajkumar

Manjaavaee starts of like an old country side song, casual enough with a mix of techno, flute, glazing violin effects and then springs out Gaana Bala, his voice is the heart of the song appears fresh and fore mostly entertaining. GV has induced folk elements to maintain the essence of the movie synthesizes fresh mixes to keep the song lively. Gaana Bala is a regular in most of GV’s movies, this one is quite peculiar from his usual stereotyped gaana songs has more to offer.

4. SelSel  Listen here

Singer: Sathya Prakash
Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

A clean vibrating number and looks as if Sathyaprakash was tailor made for this song, speaks volume of the singer’s talent. The movie predominantly revolves around the kids and Sathyaprakash’s slow vocals help in adding flavor to the song. GV has rendered a bit of Hindustani Ghazals to the core of the number, which is interesting yet soothing to hear. A perfect song with some mature lyrics from Muthukumar a number you would want to hear over and over again.

KaakaMuttai doesn’t boast much, doesn’t try much it just flows with the theme and GV has absolutely captures soul stirring music at ease, a wonderful album has just been put together.

Verdict : One of GV’s best till date

Rating: 3.25/5
