'Kaatru Veliyidai' is ace director Mani Ratnam's new film which has gone to floors in Ooty. As the title suggests the film will be a fresh romance entertainer starring Karthi and Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hyadari in lead roles. Young comedy actor RJ Balaji is playing a supporting character in this film.

Mani Ratnam's regular partners for Music- A.R.Rahman, Lyrics- Vairamuthu and Editing- Sreekar Prasad are on board for 'Kaatru Veliyidai'. The Isaipuyal and Kaviperarasu have already started working on the songs.
Noted Pan-Indian Cinematographer Ravi Varman has teamed up with Mani Ratnam for the first time in this film. Sreekar Prasad is the Editor Sharmishta Roy is the prominent female crew member in this film and she will be heading the Art department.
'Kaatru Veliyidai' is being produced by Mani Ratnam under his Madras Talkies banner. Siva Ananth is the Executive Producer. Sri Thenandal Films banner will be involved in the distribution of the film once it is completed.
Three songs of the film composed by Rahman were released as separate single tracks and the audio release happened on March 20, 2017. The music album contains six tracks composed by the Isaipuyal.
'Kaatru Veliyidai' has been certified with a clean U certificate by the Censor Board and the film's running time is Two hours and 20 minutes.The film will be hitting the screens on April 7, 2017.
