'Kabali' director supports 'The Casteless Collective'

Pa.Ranjith, the director of 'Kabali', is known for being politically vocal. When Dalit leader Jignesh Mewani recently won in the Gujarat legislative assembly elections, he congratulated the youth leader in the language of a fellow comrade.

Latest, he has thrown his weight behind a social initiative named 'The Casteless Collective'. "Hello hello everyone.We are #TheCastelessCollective Singers and Artists coming together for our Politics. No silence anymore. Let's sing more and more. Songs of Justice, Resistance, Love, Equality and Compassion. The only hopes for our resurrection. Wait for us, watch us, join us," he says on Twitter.

Currently making 'Kaala' with Superstar Rajinikanth, Ranjith was referred to as a 'Dalit filmmaker' by sections of media when 'Kabali' released in 2016.
