Remember Velu Prabhakaran’s explicit film on womanhood that has been in the cans for five years now? The movie, which features him as an actor apart from the writer, deals openly with the idea of considering women a subject for sex, and has partial nudity in many scenes by actress Sherlidas.

The film, on completion, was sent to the Censor Board for a Certification, which they turned down citing the obscenity. The film crew then moved to Delhi to take the case with the Censor officials there. After they too refused to relent, the filmmaker Velu Prabhakaran is said to have make changes in the film and submitted that for a censor approval. Seeing the new film, which has been renamed Kadhal Kadhai, the Censor Board has given an A Certificate.

The writer has woven in many elements of his real life in the film, to reveal the status of women in the country today.

The film is now ready to hit screens in a couple of months in a more toned down version than the original.
