Director Nag Ashwin has responded to the question of when the second part of 'Kalki 2898 AD' will begin filming.
During a press meet for the re-release of the film ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ featuring Nani and Vijay Deverakonda, Nag Ashwin answered several questions. When asked about the second part of 'Kalki 2898 AD,' he revealed that filming is set to start in December, with preparations already underway.
Ashwin explained that the first part focused on the backstories of Sumathi (Deepika Padukone) and Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), which reduced Prabhas' screen presence. Since the backstories are now complete, the sequel will primarily revolve around Karna (Prabhas) and Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan).
In the first installment, Kamal Haasan portrayed the villain Yaskin. The sequel will showcase how Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan's characters confront Kamal Haasan.
'Kalki 2898 AD,' directed by Nag Ashwin, was a massive box-office success, grossing over ₹1000 crore. The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Pasupathy, and Anna Ben. It was produced by Vyjayanthi Movies with a budget of approximately ₹600 crore.
