Shankar is a legendary filmmaker in Tamil cinema who captivated the Pan-Indian audience back in the 90s itself. For the first time in his career, he is now directing two films simultaneously - Ram Charan starrer 'RC15' and Kamal Haasan starrer 'Indian 2'.

'Indian 2' is the sequel to Shankar's blockbuster film starring Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, a 70-year-old freedom fighter turned vigilante. The first part ends with Senapathy escaping to Hong Kong from the Indian government. Meanwhile, the hot news is that the makers are planning to shoot a major sequence at the Chennai airport next.

As per the reports, this might be the return of Senapathy to India. It is said that Shankar recently wrapped up a schedule for the Ram Charan starrer in Newzealand, and the busy director will be returning to Chennai on December 3. So, the upcoming schedule of 'Indian 2' will happen at the Chennai airport on December 5.

The buzz is that the makers plan to wrap up the shoot of the film by the first quarter of 2023. A source close to the development revealed, “Like all Shankar films, this one too has ample visual effects. While it isn’t as high on VFX as Enthiran or 2.0 as the core of the script is ample drama in the vigilante space, there are some action blocks and songs that demand special effects. The team is targeting either a Dussehra or Diwali 2023 release across the country."

Indian 2 will have a Pan India release in multiple languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The source informed, “Shankar, Lyca, and the entire team are confident to recreate the magic of Indian on the big screen." The film, with music by Anirudh, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Gulshan Grover, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram and others.
