Kamal to join DMK-Congress alliance? Here is the truth

Last night a prominent Tamil news channel announced that actor Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiyyam would join the alliance of DMK-Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in May 2019 and the new party has been allocated two seats to contest in the elections. This set the social media in the storm as no one expected that Kamal would join a front lead by DMK as he entered politics only to bring about a change from the rule of Dravidian parties.
However, in less than few hours, Kamal Haasan rubbished this speculation as a mere rumor. Kamal also reiterated that he or his party will not do anything for short-term benefits in the electoral battle In an apparent reference to DMK or its supporters Kamal said the spread of such rumor is a ploy of those who are frightened by MNM. The 'Viswaroopam' actor also said that MNM will contest the elections alone if they are forced to do so.
