'Vikram' box-office rampage: beats the collections of 'Baahubali 2' and '2 Point O'!

It is a well-known fact that 'Baahubali 2', which was released in 2017, is the second highest-grossing film in Indian cinema. It has been the top-grossing film at Tamil Nadu box office for the past 5 years but now, the latest report suggests that 'Vikram' has surpassed the collection of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion'.

'Baahubali 2' was released amid high expectations following the record-breaking hit of 'Baahubali 1' and set new benchmarks at the box office. The film gained a stunning response from both the critics and the audience. 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' has grossed around Rs 155 crores in Tamil Nadu and remained the top-grosser of the state for 5 years.

Kamal Haasan starrer action-loaded 'Vikram' has finally broken the 5-year-old record of 'Baahubali 2' by collecting around Rs 160 crores in Tamil Nadu alone. With that being said, it is notable that Vikram has surpassed Baahubali 2's lifetime collection in just a fortnight in Tamil Nadu. Vikram has also broken box office records in other regions.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vikram has defeated Superstar Rajinikanth's '2 Point O' to become the high-grossing Tamil film in Australia and it is the third highest-grossing Tamil in the USA behind Rajini's '2 Point O' and 'Kabali'. With music by Anirudh, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya have played prominent roles in 'Vikram'.
