It has been more almost two years since we saw Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan on the silver-screen. His last film to hit the screens was 'Thoongavanam' which released on November 10, 2015 for the Diwali festival.

After 'Thoongavanam', Kamal started work on 'Sabaash Naidu' whose first schedule of shoot was completed in USA but the next schedule could not be started till now due to various reasons. Kamal's long delayed most anticipated 'Viswaroopam 2' has been acquired by Raj Kamal Films banner recently and the film is still in post-production stage.

To make up for this long gap, Kamal has recently made his small screen debut through the Big Boss Reality show that has become a huge success. The show is still on and Kamal is hosting the show on both days of every weekends.

Still the craving to see him as a performer in the big screen is getting deeper. Probably this week the fans of the multi-talented star can get some sort of solace with the re-release of his yesteryear blockbuster 'Vetri Vizha'.

'Vetir Vizha' directed by Prathap Pothen and produced by Sivaji Films had Kamal Haasan, Prabhu, Khushbu, Amala and Sasikala in lead roles. The film released for Diwali festival in Ocotber 1989 and turned out to be a super hit.

Now the film has been digitized and will be re-released in theaters across Tamil Nadu tomorrow (August 4, 2017). With no major new Tamil films scheduled to release this weekend, it is expected that 'Vetri Vizha' will take a great opening.
