Kamal Haasan sees re-opening of liquor shops as a blunder

With Covid-19 spreading at a rate of 500 per day in Tamil Nadu and the cumulative reaching 5409 (Chennai alone has half of them), Kamal Haasan has hit out at the government's liquor policy in times like this. In an angry letter, the actor-politician slammed the AIADMK government with a literary flourish.

The 'Indian-2' actor minced no words in accusing the ruling government of exploiting the people through opening the wine shops. He stated that politicians are part and parcel of the game of benefiting through the business.

Kamal further warned the government that COVID-19 has the potential to spread through TASMAC clusters and the death toll would be much more than the one from the Tsunami that hit the State in 2004, claiming more than 8000 lives.

In the epilogue of the letter, Kamal predicted that if the government rethinks and acts in shutting TASMAC immediately, they will lose the upcoming Assembly elections more gracefully.
