In 1978, Kamal Haasan had played the lead in the thriller Sigappu Rojakkal directed by Bharathiraja, and the movie also starring Sridevi went on to become a massive blockbuster which was remade in Hindi as well.

Recently there were reports that Sigappu rojakkal is getting a sequel and that Bharathiraja will produce it and his son, actor Manoj K Bharathi will direct it. However, Manoj has now clarified on this rumoured sequel.

Manoj tweeted "Recently there is a lot of news about about #SigappuRojakkal2 Which is not true. Once things fall in place, me and my dad @offBharathiraja Will make an official announcement. Thanks for your concern." Manoj is next acting in Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu starring Simbu.
