The Central Government has approved the Tamil Nadu Government's ordinance exempting the state from the NEET exams paving way to make admissions in Government medical colleges and the Government quota seats of Private collets based on the marks scored by the students in the 12th standard exams.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan who has been a political commentator in the recent times has thanked the Union Government, Law Ministery and all the political parties for granting the exemption. However he has cautioned that this is like an emergency treatment and we have to think what we are going to do further.

It is worth noting that the Central Government has granted the exemption only for this year and from next year all the students in the state have to attend NEET and the admissions to all medical colleges will be made only based on the NEET score. The TN Government should upgrade the syllabus of State Board schools in the state and also prepare the students to face the NEET exams so that students from not only the CBSE schools but also the State Board schools get medical admission.
