Kamal Haasan of Makkal Needhi Maiam has always never held himself back from opining his views on social and contemporary issues. Kamal has recently stated that he has sought permission to meet with Chief Minister Palaniswami to discuss about the setting up of Cauvery Management Board.

Bringing about an example as to how the Highways Authority oversees all cases and disputes in addition to laying roads, he said seeting up of Cauvery water board is also a similar necessity. Futhermore he strongly stated to not leverage the Cauvery issue for vote bank politics. He also said not attending to the issue will only bring a bad name to the rulers of the state.
