Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bansali's 'Padmavati' has been meeting tough resistance from the Rajput community, Hindutva forces and many BJP leaders across states. On the wake of severe protests and calls to behead the director and the film's lead actress Deepika Padukone, the makers have postponed the film's release from December 1, 2017.

Many film industry celebrities across the nation have raised their voice in support of the film and its maker's creative freedom. Support is also pouring in for Deepika Padokone who is facing risk to life by the right wing factions and the Karnataka Government has accorded police protection for her ancestral home at Bengaluru.

Now Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan whose films has faced severe protests from the communal forces many times in the past has voiced his support for the Bollywood diva.

In his latest tweet Kamal has said "I want Ms.Deepika's head. (I) respect it more than her body. Even more her freedom. Many communities have opposed my films.Extremism in any debate is deplorable."
