Kangana Ranaut turns quirky as 'Revolver Rani'

After seen as a simpleton in ‘Queen’, Kangana turns quirky and bizarre for ‘Revolver Rani’.

Set against the backdrop of political drama in rustic MP, Kangana plays a politically active local goon. And to portray the character, Kangana will be seen sporting quirky outfits for her role in the movie. In a not-done-before avatar, she is seen wearing dhoti pants with boots, funky glasses, metal accessories (guns included) and a tanned look. While the attire is quite wacky, some of them also include scandalous cabre kind of outfits.

But what got us hooked is the research and the shopping that went into creating these outfits. Apparently Kangana was travelling with her costume designer Gavin (who also designed her Krissh 3 look) and they went checking out kinky stores in the streets of Europe for getting the look right.

Kangana's character of Alka, is crazy about clothes from Europe. She is also a bindaas and cool woman in the movie. We wanted to create a look that was a little futuristic and quirky and at the same time realistic. Kangana also had a strong idea of her character and her look. That really helped me a lot. After checking out those stores, we got excited and decided on inventing our own personal style, said Gavin.

The most wackiest was the cabre kind of outfits that she has worn for a particular bedroom scene where she is showing off to Vir Das that her clothes come from Europe. Seen wearing a metallic bra, this outfit has been making talks ever since the promo went out.

Yes, we went a little too intense with that. When she saw the outfit she loved it but was a little skeptical if it would be comfortable. So she wore it a few times to get comfortable but when the camera rolled, she was totally in control. It was a real bold move by her. But Kangana has the poise and attitude to carry it off, stated Gavin.

While many would not have dared to do such a role or look, Kangana pulls it off with great ease and surprisingly makes it look fashionable. We hear she even had her own inputs and personalized the look to make it look more bizarre. Her ideas and sense of style is as good as a designer. And she really understands her character, added Gavin.

Well, looks like her fans are always in for a surprise when it comes to her look in the movies and she rarely disappoints. Produced by Wave Cinema, ‘Revolver Rani’ is directed by Sai Kabir and releases on 25th April.
