In a brutal incident in Karnataka's Vijaypura, a man killed his wife with a hammer and called her parents to show her dead body. The person, Mallikarjun Pavar was arrested by Gandhichowk police after being informed by the family of the dead woman after they saw her body in the video call, where he confessed his crime.

Just as Mallikarjun tried to escape, the cops reached the spot on time and nabbed him, and found his wife Sonabai lying dead on the bed, with her body covered with a blanket and garland on her hair, indicating that Mallikarjun had tried to decorate her. By 4 pm today, he had made a Whatsapp video call to her parents to show that he had killed Sonabai.

After receiving call from her parents, police rushed to the location. Mallikarjun was a Bollywood makeup artist who had been married to Sonabai for 15 years, and used to visit her only once or twice an year. Reportedly he had been demanding divorce, and Sonabai had not agreed for the same. The couple had three children, two girls who had been to their grandparents home, and a boy who was sleeping. Mallikarjun has been booked under IPC section 302.
