The Karnataka State awards for 2008-2009 were announced by the Karnataka Chief Minister Dr B.S.Yediyurappa today.

Here are the winners.

Dr.Rajakumar Award -Dr B Saroja Devi

Lifetime achievement award in the name of Dr Vishnuvardhana – Ajantha Raju and RNK Prasad

Puttanna Kanagal Award – Director KSR Doss

The other awards of 2008-2009 Karnataka State Films awards are:

The 1st Best film - ‘Kabbaddi’ – Director Narendra Babu Producer Smt Asha and Kishore

The 2nd Best Film - Josh, Director – Shivamani, Producer – S.V.Babu

The3rd Best Film Shankara Punya Koti – Director – G Murthy Producer Amaranath Hegde and Srinivasa Sooda

Best Social Awareness Film – Mukhaputa – Director Roopa Iyer, Producer – Roopa Iyer

Best Children Film– Chaitanya – Director – AK Shivaraju, Producer Shivarama Kristha

Best Actor – Yogish for Ambari

Best Actress – Radhika Pandit for Moggina Manasu

Best Supp. Actor – MK Matha Gaggara,

Best Supp. Actress – Lakshmi Vamshi

Best Dubbing – Ravindranath Anthara Gange

Best Dubbing – female – Asha Shankara Punyakoti,

Best story – Ugragami – Baraguru Ramachandrappa

Best Screenplay – Soori, Junglee,

Best Dialogues – Hoo Pattanashetty Narednra babu Kabbaddi

Best Cameraman – Vishnu ‘Neenyare,

Best Music – Abhiman Roy Taj Mahal,

Best Male Playback Singer – Chetan Yaare Nee Devathe Ambari,

Best Female Playback Singer– Nandita Banige Bhaskara Chandra,

Best Sound Recording –Psycho

Best Editing – Deepu S Kumar, Junglee,

Best Child Actor (Male) – Master Manoj Nandadeepa

Best Child Actor (Female) – Baby Sania Vimukthi,

Best Art Direction – K Raju for Neenyare

Best Lyricist – K Kalyan for Ganga Kauvery

Best Regional Cinema – Konnara Manasru (Kodava), Sona (Lambani)

The 2008-2009 state film awards committee was headed by senior director HR Bhargava and the committee watched 74 Kannada films.
