Karthi to clash with Vijay after six years

Karthi's next film Theeran Adhigaram Ondru' directed by Vinod of Sathuranga Vettai' fame is said to be a cop thriller based on true events. Rakul Preeth Singh plays the female lead opposite Karthi while Bose Venkat , Abhimanyu Singh and Scarlett Mellish Wilson are also in the cast. Dream Warriors Pictures S.R. Prabhu have slated the film for release on Diwali this year.
Vijay's Mersal' directed by Atlee has also locked the date for a Diwali release and this will be the second time that Karthi will be facing off against Vijay at the box office. In 2011 Karthi's blockbuster hit Siruthai' was released on the 14th of January while Vijay's Kavalan' came the next day on the 15th.
