Karthik as a baddie

The blockbuster Malayalam movie Bharathchandran IPS is now being remade in Tamil as Sivalingam IPS with Sathyaraj playing the lead role.
To be directed by Raj Kapoor, who has made several Sathyaraj starrers before,Sivalingam would see Sathyaraj donning the Khaki uniform after Manin Maindhan.
Sundari Films, who produced Sathyaraj's Adi Thadi, will be producing Sivalingam IPS. The highlight of the movie would be actor Karthik playing the baddie for the first time in Kollywood.
A romantic hero of the yesteryear, Karthik now tackles to a negative role with Sivalingam IPS.
About doing a negative role, Karthik says,'the role has more scope to perform and hence I decided to do it immediately when the producer and the director approached me'.
Sivalingam IPS went to floors on Monday with a grand muhurat.
